Other Services: Functional Tests

What is a functional test, and is it worth paying extra for? 

Functional tests are the fastest way to determine the root cause of symptoms. Science and evidence-based, functional tests are the best way to determine what is going on in your body so we can fast-track your journey to optimal health. Whilst not always required, they are recommended.

Some of the tests offered:

  • DUTCH Test: The DUTCH Complete is the most advanced hormone test, offering an extensive profile of sex and adrenal hormones and melatonin, along with their metabolites, to identify symptoms of hormonal imbalances.

  • Complete Microbiome Mapping or GI360 Stool Test: This test is used to detect and assess the status of pathogens, viruses, parasites, and bacteria that may be contributing to acute or chronic gastrointestinal symptoms and disease.

  • OAT (Organic Acid Test): OAT offers a comprehensive metabolic snapshot of a patient's overall health with 76 markers. It provides an accurate evaluation of intestinal yeast and bacteria.

  • SIBO test (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth Test): SIBO is a serious condition affecting the small intestine. It occurs when bacteria that normally grow in other parts of the gut start growing in the small intestine.

  • Omega 3 Index Test: The Omega-3 Index test is a measure of the amount of EPA and DHA in the blood, specifically the red blood cell membranes.

  • Food Intolerance Testing: Food sensitivity and allergy identification and support (IgA, IgE, IgG testing and / or elimination programmes).

  • FitGenes Carb Choice test: Carb Choice is a quick home DNA kit that can assist in determining your natural genetic ability to process starchy carbohydrates. This helps fast-track health goals for better health, weight loss, improved fitness levels (or all of these).

  • FitGenes Food Choice: Food Choice is a quick home DNA kit that can identify the genetic potential for intolerances and sensitivities to Gluten/Coeliac, Lactose/Dairy, Alcohol, Caffeine/Coffee and Salt.

    Data assimilation of 23andMe/ or Ancestry DNA into Health and Wellbeing Genetic Profile Report to provide an in-depth analysis of genetic variations including Cell Defence, Inflammation, Vitamin D Receptors, Methylation and Homocysteine Metabolism, Cardiovascular Health, Fat and Cholesterol Metabolism. Reports on 58 genes in total.

  • 23andMe/Ancestry or Fitgenes Health & Wellbeing Conversion to Fitgenes Food Choice Report
    Data assimilation of the 23andMe/Ancestry or Fitgenes Health & Wellbeing DNA report into Fitgenes Food Choice Profile Report.
